Mrs Hayes has been a member of our Governing Body for just over ten years and previously taught at our school. Mrs Hayes has a wealth of school experience, having worked as a Headteacher in another local primary school and at the Local Authority.

Mrs Littler has recently become a member of our Governing Body. Mrs Littler has a wealth of school experience, having worked as a Headteacher in another local primary school and at the Local Authority. Rosemary has worked in primary education for 43 years, and led an outstanding school as headteacher for 11 years.
Name: Mrs Cotter - Appointed by GB/board as co-opted Governor

Mrs Cotter joined our Governing Body in December 2016 as a Parent Governor but has recently become a co-opted Governor as her children have since left to go to high school.
Name: Mr Sloan - Appointed by GB/board as co-opted Governor

Mr Sloan joined our Governing Body in February 2021 having been involved with the school for several years previously, supporting the IT infrastructure in our school. Mr Sloan’s particular area of interest as a Governor is with regards to the IT within the school through regular catch ups with technicians, curriculum consultants and the Head of Computing. He believes it to be a privilege to be able to offer support as a Governor to the fantastic team at Bedford Drive.

Mr Preston joined our Governing Body in October 2024 having been involved with the school for several years previously whilst working in the Local Authroity. Mr Preston’s particular area of interest as a Governor is with regards to the health, safety and security of the school.

Mr Boggan joined our Governing Body in March 2022 having been involved with the school for several years previously whilst working for the Local Authroity within a HR role.
Name: Mrs Kearney - Appointed by GB/board as Parent Governor

Mrs Kearney joined us in October 2023 as a parent Governor. Mrs Kearney will be working with the Governing Body, and using her knowledge from working in industry to support the children and staff at Bedford Drive Primary. This role is so important to our Governing Body in supporting us with the views of the parents of our school community.
Name: Mr Olsson - Appointed by GB/board as Parent Governor

Mr Olsson joined us in November 2024 as a parent Governor. Mr Olsson will be working with the Governing Body, and using his knowledge from working in industry and wanted to use his experience as a parent to support the children, staff and parents of our school.

Mrs Horton has been the Headteacher at Bedford Drive since April 2024. In her role as head teacher, Mrs Horton attends all committee meetings and governors’ meetings and presents a highly detailed and informative termly report to governors at each Full Governing Body meeting. Mrs Horton plays a key role alongside Mrs Hayes in realising the dream of Bedford Drive as well as continuing to drive up standards (achieving a Good in all areas at our last OFSTED inspection) and attending to the myriad of other tasks that a Headteacher is required to do in the course of a teaching day.
Name: Miss Lewis - Appointed by GB/board

Miss Lewis took over the role of Staff Governor from Miss Quinlan in the autumn term of the 2021. She joins with an enthusiasm to support the Governing Body and the school and its pupils.
Name: Mrs Alston - Clerk to Governors
Mrs Alston who is our School Business Manager and the Clerk to Governors has worked with us since 2014, she works with the Governing Body, taking minutes at meetings and performing a number of key administrative and advisory roles.
